3rd American Dairy Goat Association Sanctioned Dairy Goat Show

Thursday, July 17 – 1:00 P.M.

Entry Fee $4.00 per animal

 

1.      Refer to Rules Governing Livestock before proceeding.

2.      Any exhibitor refusing to parade or who otherwise disobeys the rules laid down in this book will thereby forfeit his or her right to exhibit and also any premium money already won.

3.      ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY JULY 1.  Late entries can be received at Double Entry Fee. Please use a separate entry form for each person and separate breeds.. 

4.      Entry fees are $4.00 per head.

5.      ALL EXHIBITORS MUST purchase a livestock exhibitors pass, unless they are a season pass holder.

6.      Health papers are required and the scrapie farm premise number must be on papers.

7.      Exhibitors must be prepared to help set-up and breakdown pens.

8.      Exhibitors should bring their own bedding, hay, buckets, and electrical extension cords.  There are wash areas close by.

9.       CHECK-IN: Must be completed by 11:00 am on  Thursday, July 17.

10. RELEASE: Friday, July 19 – 6:00 p.m.  Special approval can be obtained for earlier release.  The Fair Board would like to have animals in the barns for the public to enjoy and this is a good opportunity to promote the dairy goat industry.

11. The exhibitor will have owned and raised the goat since January 1, 2008.  July 17, 2008 will be the date for age computation.

12. American Dairy Goat Association Show rules shall govern.

13.   There will be no pre-show milkout, but distended udders will be discriminated against.

14.  All exhibitors are requested to wear white in the showring.  No halters, very short shorts or sandals will be permitted.

15.   An exhibitor may enter any number of goats. 

16.  Premiums will be awarded to the top three placing animals.

         1st place - $3.00    2nd place - $2.00    3rd place - $1.00. 

      Grand & Reserve champion in junior and senior show will receive $20.00 for Grand and $15.00 for Reserve.

Best Senior Doe in Show will receive $25.00  Best Junior Doe in Show - $25.00.

17. All first place animals in each class will compete for champion and reserve in their own breed.  The grand champion of each breed will be judged for the BEST DOE in the Senior and Junior Division.

18. There will be a separate Junior and Senior Division.

19. There will be an unregistered general class at the conclusion of the dairy goat show if there are any entries.

3.                  Senior Kids – born December 1, 2005 to January 31,   2008

4.                  Senior Dry Yearlings – born after July 24, 2006, unfreshened

All 1st and 2nd place animals will compete for Junior Doe Grand Champion and Junior Doe Reserve Champion

5.                  Breeder Trio – (3) all owned by one breeder

6.               Junior get of sire – (3) does of one sire – (1) may be borrowed
